Cherry Nest is a privately run guesthouse in the heart of Welkom, created for travellers who would rather arrive somewhere considered than somewhere generic.
The property was shaped around a simple idea: a stay should feel restful from the moment you step through the gate. Mature gardens soften the noise of the city, the interiors are calm and uncluttered, and the pace is deliberately gentle. Whether you are here for a week of work, a family visit or a weekend away, the intention is the same — that you settle in quickly and leave rested.

Cherry Nest is managed by Mr and Mrs Tshepo Mdakane, dedicated hosts whose passion for hospitality shows in every part of a stay.
Their commitment is simple: create a welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels safe, comfortable and genuinely at home. That care shows up in the thoughtful touches and personal attention that make a stay memorable rather than merely pleasant.

Cherry & Nest
Cherry for warmth — the welcome, the colour, the sense of something a little indulgent. Nest for shelter — a calm, private place to settle, rest and feel properly looked after. Together they describe how we like to host: generous, but never showy.
